Fees and Rebates
At the Psychology Education and Family Centre, we believe in providing affordable services for our clients. The current Australian Psychological Society’s Recommended Fee for seeing a Psychologist is $300 per 46-60mins.
At our centre, an individual therapy consultation is $235 per 50 minute consultation.
Will I receive a medicare rebate?
A medicare rebate of $137.05 per session for up to 10 sessions per calendar year, is available for clients with a valid GP referral. Leaving you with an out of pocket cost of $97.95. The rebate will be processed for you following payment of your full session fee. Please obtain your referral prior to your first appointment.
Do I need a referral to see a psychologist at your centre?
No. You can make an appointment to come and see a psychologist as a privately paying client. In this instance, you will not receive any medicare rebate and the full fee will be payable by you.
Most private health insurance policies with ‘extras’ cover will offer varied rebates on psychology fees. Please contact your provider for further information. Please note, you are unable to use both private health insurance and Medicare rebates for your session.
