Christy Manning

Registered Clinical Psychologist and Education Specialist
Christy is a registered Clinical Psychologist and Registered Teacher. She is the Director of the Psychology, Education, and Family Centre on the Sunshine Coast, in Queensland, and has over a decade of experience working across the education and mental health sectors.
Having worked across the lifespan with people from many different backgrounds, Christy prides herself on creating a warm, safe, empathic, and non-judgemental space for her clients, and works caringly and collaboratively with them to achieve their goals.
Christy is a wife and mother of two. When she is not at the centre, she enjoys spending time with her family and is a lover of the outdoors, travel, music, reading, and a good cup of tea.
Therapy:
Therapeutically, Christy is passionate about supporting individuals and couples to overcome challenges, reconnect, and live life to the full. She holds a special interest in supporting those experiencing relationships challenges, parenting and family challenges, providing couples therapy, working with those experiencing anxiety and stress related concerns, and supporting clients who wish to improve their general wellbeing.
Assessments:
Having worked in the education system for over ten years, Christy is also an education and literacy specialist. She is dedicated to supporting both children and adults through her diagnostic assessment work, and delivers all of our assessment services. She is devoted to ensuring her clients are provided with tailored and informed recommendations based on assessment outcomes, making certain they receive the best support possible.

Christy also enjoys working with education professionals, offering PD workshops for teachers and educators across Australia.

What therapeutic approaches do you use?
Christy uses a variety of evidence-based treatment approaches in her work including: Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Metacognitive Therapy (MCT), Attachment-based Therapy, and Gottman Relationship Therapy. She will always create an individualised treatment plan tailored to your needs.
In which formats do you offer psychological services?
Our services are offered in a variety of formats including:
- one-on-one appointments
- group therapy and group workshops
Delivered via:
- Telehealth; or
- In-person at our Buderim Centre.

As a psychologist, Christy is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency, and as a teacher she holds registration with Queensland College of Teachers and The Teachers Registration Board of WA.
